I was very saddened to hear of AlFred Fenech's passing away whilst overseas. As I could not attend the Sydney funeral and pay my respects to Fred whom I have known since the late 1960s I walked past the street he lived in Sliema Malta and said some prayers.
Fred involved me in a numerous projects over the years, the latest at the Alfred Fenech Maltese Resource Centre Merrylands. He was a stalwart of the Maltese community.
My condolences to all the family. I am sure you will find solace in learning of Fred's many achievements for his beloved Maltese Community to the very end.
Rest In Peace Alfred Fenech

The Emigrants Commission and its volunteers were very much saddened at the news of the passing away of dear FRED, as we all warmly called him.
We have always know Alfred as one of the ever present and important anchors of the Maltese Community in Australia and has been readily co-operative by giving wise advice whenever we needed to contact him on some issue and during our Australia visits to meet our friends, clubs or associations particularly in Sydney. He was a humble man who enjoyed immensely in helping others and has proved to be a huge asset to the Maltese and Gozitan Community in Australia for decades.
We thank the Lord for having blessed us with Fred presence over so many years. Fr. Philip Calleja and myself send our Blessings and would like to convey our heartfelt condolences to his family and many friends who like us will miss his presence greatly. We is now in peace with the Lord and we will continue to remember him in our prayers.

To Alfred's family, whilst I do not personally know you, I extend my condolences. Alfred's dedication to helping others has been a gift to all. I vividly recall how he helped mother to become an Australian Citizen; my mother spoke very highly of Alfred. - his sincerity, his ability to ensure my mother understood all aspects of the citizenship application. Praying that you will be surrounded by God's comforting love and filled with the peace that only He can give. Maryann Camilleri
