Bill’s funeral on Tuesday was a beautiful service. We had a piper play the bagpipes throughout and Bill’s favourite songs ‘Grannies Heighland Hame’, ‘Oh Danny Boy’ & ‘Trees’ playing during the DVD photo memories tribute. Very moving. Being a Scotsman and avid storyteller, we had many stories to recount in his memory. So very appreciative of all those who could make it to Mandurah on the day ~ thankyou. Bill would have loved to have seen everyone who was there and he would have been very proud of the send off we created for him. Now trying to come to terms with the tremendous loss in our lives...it will likely take a lifetime. RIP my braveheart xxx ps. For absent friends, as well as family overseas who could not attend, we will endeavour to share more images from the photo tribute DVD played during the service over the coming days.
Mrs Carole Anne McKenzie lit a candle for William (AKA Bill) McKenzie
It was such an honour to visit your family in Perth. To see the wonderful, loving, joking relationship that Bill and Carole had was a delight and a fine example. The trip to Mandurrah and the ice cream parlour was fun. He was a charming, cheeky and handsome man with an adorable silvery Scottish accent. And then there were those jokes which he said with a glint in his eye and a chuckle to himself. Keep having fun Bill. xxx
