A TRIBUTE – Andy Page (nee Forbes) IFBB Pro

It is with the heaviest of hearts that I find myself tapping out this post today.
On Sun 5th June, Andy Page (age 32) past away in her sleep, and this morning, Nath and Andy’s family and friends said their farewells at Somerville Funerals Nerang QLD.

She came to us in 2012 as Andy Forbes - an athlete in the SLSC community Andy was already a champion. From the moment she walked in through our doors she never missed a beat. Day in day out she walked past with a massive smile and wave, off to do her workout sessions and train her clients. But it wasn’t all work and no play, it was also a love story. A love of her sport, of her passion to achieve, to give back, and of a love for the person who would ultimately be her life partner, Nathan Page.

For those of you that have been with us for some time, Nathan and Andy would not have gone unnoticed. Partners in life, work and play, Team Page always turned heads. Whether it was training their body building competitors at the gym or just walking down the road to get a coffee - they were noticed. Some people may have only seen the exterior but Michael and I saw much more. We saw two people in love becoming one.

As I sit here writing it feels unbelievable that Andy is no longer with us. We are so deeply saddened by her passing and feel stuck for words that may, in any way, hope to truly commemorate the amazing person that she was. We will remember Andy Page as the open hearted, vivacious, no non-sense girl next door, who touched so many people with her down to earth friendship.

I am posting today my favourite pictures of Andy that was taken in 2014, the day before her wedding. When most girls would be making last minute preparations, Andy made the time to pose for our photoshoot… why, because that’s just the kind of person she was – generously giving, thoughtful and unexpected.

In her passing, Andy leaves us with her lesson. Be open and inspired by what life has to offer. Reach for your stars, and love each person that passes your way and each moment of your day. Be who you need to be, live with honour, courage, conviction and above all, do not take anything for granted.

We are proud to have hanging on our reception wall at Bondi Gym, an autographed picture from Andy, and every day that I look upon it, I will cherish it and be reminded, that this is what we learnt from Andy Page, IFBB Pro.
