"Hi Sam. I couldn't make your fairwell today as I am away. But as your funeral was starting I headed to 4 Mile Beach in Port Douglas and thought about you, your family, Ellie and all our colleagues. I very much wish I could be there.. It's funny how quickly people can make an impression on you, how quickly you file away in your mind that you have just met one of life's nice people - and that is what I did when I met you. And when I found out that Ellie and you were a couple, I remember getting the same feeling all over again - how fab that two of life's nice people are together. My heart goes out to Ellie and your family today. You showed amazing strength, courage and determination in the time I knew you - and great humour. May it always be remembered. Hugs and peace to you Sam. You will be missed but not forgotten - as Deirdre said, raise your arms in the air for Sam Brown. Love Louise Clarke"
