I would like to be able to put into words my relationship with mum, but that is not the case.What I can do is tell you about some the the areas of my life that she has influenced.

Most importantly my family, mum knew the kind of person that I needed as my life partner and her acceptance of my then girlfriend 34 years ago helped lead to what I consider a successful marriage.

My kids, Jade and Deakin continue to be a source of pride, mainly becasuse they are genuinely good people and I know that mums input has in no small way helped to shape their character.

I think mums main life lessons have taught me that it is important to work hard and provide for your family, but the measure of a person is not money, but by the way they treat family and people in general:

I can honestly say that the things I most value in life have stemmed either directly from mum or from her influence on me and the individual members of my family, and I would like to simply say thank you mum for guiding me to a good life and I love you.
